Calligraphy is the art of the fine writing script. It is derived from the Greek word kalla meaning "beautiful" and graphic meaning "writing". Calligraphy essentially defined as "written letters dependent upon the flow and rhythm of the pen or brush". It is the art of giving form to sign in an expressive, harmonious and skilful manner. Before the invention of the printing press some 500 years ago, it was the way books were made, each copy being written out by hand, by scribe in a scriptorium on the materials like vellum or parchment or with a quill in one of the period book hands like rustic, carolingian, black letter etc. Today, despite computers that can mimic any script with clarity, calligraphy is still alive. Many people have taken calligraphy as a hobby to express their thoughts through this artistic form. This art is fun! Just imagine making an invitation card, a birthday card, a business card, writing your favourite quotes, writing announcements, making posters and logo designs are just a few to choose from this artistic form. The calligrapher once hooked to this art can create beauty with his strokes. Calligraphy also continues to be popular amongst students for design and profession, where you can even earn money from your work.
We, at Wisdom Edutech train students for this beautiful art. The students begin with individual strokes, which gradually transform into a beautiful style.
